Hypoallergenic Dog Breeds
For many allergy sufferers, having a dog, is just not a viable possibility. However, owning a hypoallergenic dog, a dog that doesn't shed, or whose hair/fur has the same chemical make-up as a human could be the solution.
All the dogs on the below list, either don't shed at all, or shed only as much as a human being does. While other dogs on the list have hair vs. fur, with the same PH levels as human hair, and others have little to no hair or fur at all.
It is important to note, that for some folks, allergies are not caused by fur that sheds, rather the dander on a dog's skin. If you have doubts, or concerns about what triggers your allergies you should visit an allergist and get tested. The last thing you would want to do is adopt a dog, only to discover that you can not live with him/her because the dog sets-off terrible allergy attacks, or worse upsets your asthma.
For mild to moderate allergy sufferers, usually all that is needed to keep allergic reactions at bay are over-the-counter allergy medications.
