Food Poisons
Foods that may be harmless to humans can be potentially lethal to your pet. Your animal could accidentally become poisoned by one of the items below, no matter how diligent and cautious you are. Keeping a level head and being prepared can save your pet's life. You should store the following information in a convenient place:
1. Your vet's business number and emergency number
2. The phone numbers to at least 2 local Emergency Veterinary Services
3. The ASPCA Animal Poison Control Center number, 888.426.4435 (a fee may be applied so keep a credit card nearby as well)
When phoning your vet or the ASPCA animal Poison Control center you should be prepared with the following information:
-
Your name, address and telephone number
-
Your pet's species, breed, age, sex and weight
-
Have the container/packaging nearby for what your pet ingested
-
The amount ingested and time since exposure
-
All symptoms your pet is experiencing
Additionally, you should make a Pet Poison Safety Kit by using the following items:

- Ipecac Syrup
- Can of Your Dog's favorite wet food
- Turkey Baster, Bulb Syringe, or Medical Syringe like Four Paws Easy Feeder Hand Feeding Syringe for Small Animals ()

- A muzzle that allows you to give water like Mesh Muzzle, Size 7 XL,Nose Circumference 10.5''

- A Pet Carrier like, Petmate Furrarri Pet Carrier (Medium; 27" L X 19.5" W X 19" H; Assorted; 250)
to transport your dog to the vet, or to keep him/her confined while you are administering Ipecac for example.
