Brome, Pitbull in a Halloween Costume

Brome's Rescue:
Brome was born in Texas and purchased by a man that was living in Wisconsin. He brought Brome back to Wisconsin to live with him and his wife. While at work his wife took Brome to the local shelter and surrendered him. When the man found out what his wife did he was very upset and asked his friend to got to the shelter and get back the puppy for the $50 claim fee. 

It was rumored that the man was raising pitbull puppies for fighting. He already had two other puppies at home.  My sister lived next door to the couple, and she asked the wife if she could buy one of the puppies from them. My sister who had by now realized what was going on immediately called me and said you have to come get any and all puppies out of his house. So I drove an hour to see how many they would let me have. The man would only part with one, under the condition that I brought him back to breed with his female at 6 months. I agreed, took the puppy, named him Brome, and had him neutered at 5 1/2 months! He has been a happy part of our family ever since.

Brome, the "anti-pitbull"
My great aunt recently fell and broke her arm. Brome and I went to go stay with her for a little while to help her out around the house. She was nervous at first to have a "pitbull" staying with her. She said she had never met a pitbull and was terrified of them due to all the stories she's heard. By the end of the third day she said that if I ever wanted to get rid of him, he could come live with her. By the end of the first week, she was calling her friends and telling them all what great dogs pitbulls are. Now that we've left she calls me,  not to see how I'm doing, but to see if Brome is happy and doing OK.

Pretending to Sleep
Brome LOVES to cuddle, he has to be touching someone at all times, especially when he's sleeping. And, he LOVES sleeping on the bed under the covers. Some nights, however, it gets too crowded with my husband, myself, our other 60lb dog, and Brome in the bed. He will be wide awake wagging his tail, and we'll look at him and say "Brome, off the bed", he literally pinches his eyes shut and pretends to be asleep. Then he'll slowly open one eye to peek if we've bought it or not. If he sees us looking at him, he'll pinch it shut again. The only thing to give him away is the fact that his tail is still wagging out of control.
