Capone: A Rescue Story

Written by: Jade Connelly

Capone, Pit Bull mix, 3 years old

This is my Pitty-mix Capone! He is 3 years old, and was the first dog I fostered that I wound up adopting.

Capone came to our shelter (PAWS - Philadelphia Animal Welfare Society) from another shelter that did not adopt-out Pit Bulls. He was adopted out and returned, and adopted out again and returned. He was walking the green mile as our shelter was full to capacity. As I went and picked him up he was shaking so bad his teeth were chattering.

He is the sweetest dog I have ever owned……he loves to cuddle, is a big kisser, and is happy to just lay next to you.

He is the mayor of the neighborhood, as he must say hello to everyone while on walks.

This is my first Pit Bull, and I am now in love with the breed. I know I can not change some people’s mind because of the bad rap these dogs have, but come and ask my neighbors what a wonderful, gentle dog he is.
