Peter's Rescue Story

Peter, when rescued
|
Peter is a very special kitten to me, because I found him locked up in a shed and he had not eaten in about 2 or 3 days. This poor little guy was only about 2 weeks old when I found him. He could hardly walk.
He reminded me of the story about the ugly duckling. He was so out of proportion with a big head, big feet and a little body, but now he is 21 weeks and weighs about 8 pounds. He has now turned out to be the beautiful swan. His fur is so soft and pure white. He has soft hair between his toes and long pieces of hair coming out of his ears. Just guessing, we think he may be part Maine Coon.
At first I am not sure how much he trusted me. He just knew that I had gotten him out of that cold dark building. Yet, over the many weeks living with us and being our special kitty, he has gotten to be so loving and caring. I love it when he comes to me and wants me to hold him. At first he would put his claws INTO my leg as a sign that he wanted to come up, but now he has learned to PLACE his paws on my leg to say, 'Hold me mama.'
